A PROPOSAL which could create 15 new jobs and see a £1 million investment has been outlined.

A planning application has been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to allow a car showroom site at Houndmills Industrial Estate to also be used as a kitchen and bathroom showroom, with a small retail area.

The change of use would allow internal alterations to be made to part of the Harwoods BMW and Mini site in Edison Road, with plans for trade and retail sales to be conducted from the unit.

The applicant states: "The proposed use will include internal modifications such as a new reception, design area, offices, shop floor/show room and data room/store area.

"The proposed use of this site for employment purposes falls squarely within the definition of sustainable economic development, given that 15 equivalent full time/part time jobs will be created and around £1 million is being invested into the area."
