A CONTINGENCY of Basingstoke residents who backed the Vote Leave campaign recently joined thousands of others in the country’s capital.

The “March to Leave” saw thousands of pro Brexit voters take part in a gruelling 14-day trek which started in Sunderland, before assembling outside the Houses of Parliament to make their voices heard.

A group from Basingstoke joined the masses in the final leg of the march, being dropped off in Fulham.

One resident who joined the march, Alan Stone said: “The mass of red, white and blue was breath taking. Everyone united, young children and old alike. A full cross section of British society, from all ethnic backgrounds, united behind the fact that they were all British and they all voted to leave.”
