BASINGSTOKE and Deane has been named in a rundown of the top office locations outside of London and the fourth best in the region.

Hundreds of cities, towns and boroughs were ranked by Property Week based on factors such as the total number of workers, the demographics of those workers, accessibility and transport links, access to retail and food outlets, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Of the 406 locations which were assessed, Basingstoke ranked at 30.

And the league table of workplace winners puts the borough ahead of locations such as Guildford, Wokingham and Winchester, in marking the area the fourth best in the south east.

This was behind only Brighton and Hove, Reading, and Milton Keynes.

The area has an array of places to do business in, including 65-acre Basing View, around half of which is an Enterprise Zone which gives businesses that expand within or relocate there the opportunity to get business rates relief of up to £275,000.

Speaking about the ranking, executive director of borough development at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Neil Taylor, said: “This is further confirmation that the borough is an increasingly attractive location for companies, with our great connectivity to the ports and to London putting us at the heart of business.

“It also reflects our work to regenerate Basing View and ensure that it is well placed to meet demand now and in the future.

“Add to this the new development options which are in the pipeline and it is clear that Basingstoke and Deane has a lot to offer in office space, location and amenities.”
