PART of Basingstoke’s town centre is having a spring clean thanks to a funding boost.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council working in partnership with Basingstoke Together Business Improvement District (BID), has received £30,000 as part of the government’s High Streets Community Clean Up Fund.
Basingstoke’s big spring clean will see the Top of The Town area given a spruce up. Work started on Monday and continues until Thursday next week.
The work will include chewing gum removal, jet-washing and general cleaning of paving areas, alleyways and floral planters in the area.
Basingstoke Together’s chief executive Lucy Boazman said: “The Basingstoke Big Spring Clean is a great opportunity to demonstrate the community spirit across the town centre and having pride in our local area.”
