THREE businesses which have shown their community-minded credentials are vying for the public’s votes.

Destination Basingstoke, organisers of the Place to be Proud of Awards, is encouraging people to vote for one of three businesses to find the winner of the Business and Community Award which will be announced on June 6 at the awards ceremony.

Apollo Hotel, based in Aldermaston Road, Taylors Hair and Beauty, in Wote Street, and The Basingstoke Sports Trust have been selected as finalists.

Anyone can vote online between now and May 5.

Its chief executive Lucy Boazman said: “There are a huge number of businesses in Basingstoke who regularly go above and beyond to support a number of fantastic causes in the local area.

“All entrants demonstrated a real passion for supporting the community and it was inspiring to read about the great work taking place within Basingstoke.

“After much deliberation, three brilliant finalists have been selected and we would encourage the public to get behind each business and vote.”
