A THIEF who stole biscuits and bacon has been jailed.
Jay Alex Charles Sleator, of no fixed abode, appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on April 1 where he pleaded guilty to seven counts of theft.
The court heard between March 6 and March 8 this year Sleator targeted the One Stop store in Sherborne Road, South View, on six occasions.
During the spree, the 30-year-old stole items including: biscuits, cleaning products, laundry detergent and bacon, totalling £354.60.
He also pleaded guilty to using insulting words or behaviour towards another person on March 6.
On a separate occasion, Sleator stole groceries from the One Stop store in Sark Way, Popley, on March 28, another charge he admitted.
For each count, Sleator was committed to 12 weeks in jail, which will run concurrently. He was also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.
