A FRESH batch of cupcakes were delivered to emergency services personnel as thanks for their hard work.

Staff and resident Peter Thorn from Marnel Lodge Care Home, in Popley, paid a visit to the team at Basingstoke Ambulance Station, located off the A340 near Basingstoke hospital.

The delegation from Marnel Lodge, stopped in to surprise the paramedics with the selection of sweet treats.

Judith Boikhutso, general manager of Marnel Lodge has an open invitation to all emergency services personnel to stop by at the home for a free break.

She added: "We are pleased to offer all of our local service workers who stop in tea, coffee, juice, chilled water, delicious homemade cake and biscuits and a healthy selection of fruit, available free of charge.

"Our comfortable facilities include free Wi-Fi and service with a smile; do stop in and say hi, we would be delighted to see you."
