An EVENING of Irish music and dance is planned next month to raise money for the Basingstoke and Deane mayor’s charities.
Borough mayor Councillor Seán Keating is inviting people to join him at his fundraising event to be held at the Basingstoke Irish Centre, in Council Road, on Saturday 13 April, from 7pm to 11pm.
There will be a dance performance by the young members of the Boyle O’Dowda Academy of Irish Dance; a disco; a fundraising auction for Arsenal football tickets, a bar serving drinks and a buffet served.
Proceeds from the green, white and gold themed event will support the mayor’s charity appeal for Basingstoke Mencap, Naomi House & Jacksplace and Basingstoke NeighbourCare.
Cllr Keating said: “I hope this fun-filled musical evening will be well supported by local people. It will be a great opportunity to relax with family or friends and enjoy some great Irish music and dance from the talented members of Basingstoke’s Boyle O’Dowda Academy.
“It promises to be a great night out and will raise money for very good local causes – please come and join me.”
Tickets cost £12.50 per person and can be purchased from the Irish Centre or from the mayor’s office by emailing mayor@basingstoke.gov.uk or calling 01256 845591.
