A QUIRKY Australian stationery and gift retailer is coming to a Basingstoke shopping centre with a promotional event this weekend.

Typo opens its new store at Festival Place this weekend, offering a range of everyday items, including stationery, gadgets, novelty gifts and tech accessories.

Typo, which is owned by the Australian Cotton On Group, will celebrate the opening of its new store by giving out goody bags and £5 gift cards randomly throughout the weekend.

The first 50 customers who come through the store's doors on Saturday will also receive gifts.

Typo’s UK brand manager Sally Howard said: “We are so excited to be opening a new store at Festival Place, further expanding our existing UK footprint and complementing our thriving online platform.

“The increase in our online traffic is driving the demand for more stores in key locations, and we will strive to give our customers in Basingstoke the best possible shopping experience.”

Festival Place director Neil Churchill said: “We are extremely pleased that Typo has decided to open here at Festival Place.

“Typo products are real crowd-pleasers, and we know our customers will love the fun and quirky gifts, all created by Typo’s in-house designers.”

Founded in 2009, Typo has more than 200 stores across 15 countries. It began opening stores in the UK in December 2016.
