ANVIL Arts has some great shows for all the family this Easter holidays.

From Sunday, 7 to Tuesday 9 April, one of the most popular of authors, Julia Donaldson, will be appearing in The Gruffalo, The Witch and The Warthog at The Haymarket.

The best-selling author presents a show featuring six of her books including The Gruffalo, The Ugly Five and the newly-released The Cook and the King. The cast of five, including Julia’s guitar-playing husband Malcolm, bring her stories to life with songs, puppetry and a touch of magic.

At The Anvil on Tuesday, 9 April is the Easter pantomime Peter Pan starring Dani Harmer (CBBC's Tracy Beaker) as Wendy, Bobby Davro as Smee, and Lloyd Warbey (Art Attack) as Peter Pan.

On Thursday, 11 April The Amazing Bubble Man brings his spellbinding show to The Haymarket.

Louis Pearl has been thrilling audiences for over 30 years with the art, magic, science and fun of bubbles, and combines comedy and artistry with audience participation and enough fantastic bubble tricks to keep everyone mesmerised. From square bubbles to rocket bubbles, tornado bubbles to flying saucer bubbles, he conjures shrieks of laughter and gasps of amazement from all ages.

At The Anvil on Sunday, 14 April, there is an afternoon concert at 3pm by The National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain featuring music and opera inspired by folk tales.

Immerse yourself in a magical world of princes and princesses; Arabian sultans and magic carpets; witches, water nymphs and gingerbread houses. Conducted by Dominic Wheeler, head of opera at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the orchestra will perform with Carmen Artaza, mezzo, and Samantha Clarke, soprano, to bring a selection of these beautiful scenes to life.

Beatboxer SK Shlomo brings his Beatbox Adventure for Kids to The Forge on Tuesday, 16 April at 11am and 1.30pm. Shlomo, who now lives in Hook, is a world record-breaking beatboxer who makes all kinds of music using just his mouth and a mic.

Join the sonic superhero and become one of his sidekicks in a world of funny sounds, brilliant noises and cool music.

The Musication Station returns to Festival Place for the weekends from March 29 to April 14.

The pop-up project allows anyone to have a go at playing guitar, bass, electric drums, ukuleles and keyboards, no matter their level of experience. Sunday mornings offer Relaxed Musication for young people on the autistic spectrum and others who would be prefer to be in a more chilled environment.
