A KITCHEN fire caused smoke damage to the ground floor of a Baughurst property, though no injuries were reported.

Firefighters from the Tadley and Basingstoke fire stations were dispatched to the two-storey property in Woodlands Road to reports of a small fire which began on a kitchen hob.

Crews arrived at the scene at 6.17pm last night (Sunday, 17 March) but the flames were out on arrival.

There was smoke damage to the ground floor of the property, and one resident was checked over by medics. 

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.

Crews were stood down from the scene by 6.45pm.
