POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fire was started behind a convenience store.
At around 9am on Thursday, firefighters were called to the scene at the rear of the McColl’s store in Giles Road, Tadley.
The fire was quickly bought under control with no injuries or significant damage being reported.
However, police reported the cause of the fire is unknown at this time and so are appealing for witnesses to this incident.
Firefighters from the Basingstoke and Tadley station were called to deal with the fire which was centred in cardboard boxes and paper stored in cages in an alleyway.
The two crews of firefighters were stood down from the scene by 10am.
