FROM princesses to pirates, cats to cowboys, children from across the borough dressed up as their favourite literary characters for World Book Day.
World Book Day is the world’s biggest campaign to provide every child and young person in the country with a book of their own.
Catering for all age groups, from toddler to teenager, this year's event featured an expanded list of 13 new £1 titles for World Book Day 2019, which has been created to appeal to the widest possible range of children and young people, tastes and abilities.
Schools across Basingstoke and Deane encouraged pupils to come into school inspired by their favourite books.
Some children even brought their book with them to demonstrate the likeness of their costumes.
Gazette readers have sent in a whole host of images of their children dressed up.
You can still send in your photographs to us.
Email us at newsdesk@basingstokegazette.co.uk and remember to include their names, ages and the schools they attend.
