OFFICERS are warning residents to be vigilant following a spate of burglaries across north Hampshire.

Properties in Basingstoke, Andover, Aldershot and Farnborough were targeted between February 24 and March 3, with 12 different incidents being reported to Hampshire Constabulary.

Police believe that the people carrying out these burglaries are specifically looking for jewellery.

Four incidents were carried out in Basingstoke, at properties in Kendal Gardens in Kempshott, Pemberton Road in South View, Knight Street in King’s Furlong and Merton Road in South View.

During these incidents, jewellery, watches and cash was stolen.

Officers are advising residents to fully secure their property and to not leave jewellery or valuables on display.

Details of the burglaries are as follows:

Between 1pm and 3.30pm on Sunday, February 24, offenders have gained access to a property through an unlocked back door in Pemberton Road, Basingstoke. The suspects have searched through jewellery boxes and drawers, taking jewellery, watches and alcohol.

Between 2pm and 9pm on Sunday, February 24, offenders have gained access to a property in Kendal Gardens, Basingstoke, by smashing a patio door. They have carried out an untidy search and took items of jewellery, watches and cash.

Between 8.30pm and 10.30pm on Monday, February 24, offenders have gained access to a property in Knight Street, Basingstoke, by forcing the front door. Jewellery was stolen.

Between 7.50am and 4.45pm, on Wednesday, February 27, offenders have forced the front door of a residential property in North Lane, Aldershot. An untidy search was carried out within the property and jewellery was stolen.

Between 2.45pm and 7.20pm, on Wednesday, February 27, offenders have forced the side door of a property in Minley Close, Farnborough. They have stolen a safe from inside the property.

Between 7.45pm and 8pm on Wednesday, February 27, offenders have gained entry to a property in Fernhill Road, Farnborough, via a kitchen window. It is believed the offenders were disturbed by the residents returning and made off empty-handed in a blue saloon car.

Between 6pm on February 26 and 9am on February 28, offenders have forced French doors at the rear of an address in Croft Avenue, Andover. Jewellery and cash was stolen from the property following an untidy search.

Between 8.30pm and 8.35pm on Thursday, February 28, offenders have forced the front window of a property in Merton Road, Basingstoke. Inside, they have carried out an untidy search and have stolen a quantity of jewellery.

The occupant has arrived home and disturbed two male offenders, who then made off.

The first male is described as being white with black thinning hair. He is described as chubby and about five foot six inches tall.

The second man was around the same height, dressed in dark clothing with his hood up, no features seen.

On March 2 in Longleat Square in Farnborough, between 6.10pm and 7.15pm, offenders have smashed glass in the rear door to gain access to the property. An untidy search of the house was undertaken but nothing is believed to have been taken.

On March 2, in Whitehouse Close, Farnborough, between 7.45pm and 8.45pm, offenders have gained entry by forcing a rear window. They have carried out an untidy search and stole a quantity of jewellery.

Between 5pm and 9.30pm on March 3, offenders have forced the front door of a property in Lye Copse Close, Farnborough and have stolen a quantity of jewellery

Between 5pm and 11.30pm, on March 3, offenders have broken into a property in Laurel Close, Farnborough, by breaking into the conservatory. They have carried out an untidy search and stole a quantity of jewellery
