A GRAND donation has been made to help out a Basingstoke institution.
Basingstoke’s Army Cadets has received a cheque for £1,035 from John Lewis & Partners Basingstoke, based in Basing View.
The donation came from the store’s Community Matters scheme where customer making a purchase in store is given a green token to place in a container for a causes of their choice.
About the donation, Imogen said: “I was delighted to present the cheque and was really pleased to see the cadets in their uniforms and for their appreciation of the amount raised.”
Any charity or good cause can apply to be part of Community Matters and each quarter staff at the store go through the applications and decide which charities or causes to support over the coming months.
