• The 'Wote Street Willy' was unveiled by singer Sarah Brightman to mixed reaction
• The Le Tour cycle race came through town.
• The town's first ever Lottery machine is installed, ready for the launch of The National Lottery in November 1994
• TV presenter Andy Crane launched the new Basingstoke Tour Bus, only to find he was the victim of a Noel Edmonds Gotcha Oscar.
