BOOKWORMS from across Basingstoke and Deane were tasked with helping put Humpty Dumpty together again in Festival Place over the weekend.
As a part of World Book Day, Porchester Square was transformed on Saturday and Sunday into a stage full of colourful giant storybook characters.
As guardian of the books, Boris the giant inflatable bookworm was overseeing character appearances, entertaining Story Soup Sessions, a Humpty Dumpty adventure, and a craft corner.
As well as being encouraged to read books from the Giant Bookcase Library, children were asked to help put eight-foot-tall Humpty Dumpty back together again by finding the pieces hidden around the shopping centre.
Ahead of the event, Festival Place centre director Neil Churchill said: “We’re big fans of World Book Day here at Festival Place and are keen to open up a world of imagination to our young customers.
“Boris the giant bookworm and Humpty Dumpty are brilliant, eye-catching characters that are simply unmissable and will fill the space with colour and joy."
There was also a host of interactive story adventures taking place across the weekend.
