TWO creative pupils have been crowned the winners of the first stages of a new scheme.

David Wilson Homes is running its academic-year-long Building Buddies Award scheme at Hook Junior School.

Year 6 pupils were recruited by the homebuilder, who is building at the nearby Oakwood Grange development, to take part in the project.

The first two tasks included getting the pupils to invent their own housing development and logo, and then they were asked to write a short piece of copy to market it.

After receiving a variety of entries, David Wilson Homes selected two winners who were presented with a £25 book token each by sales office manager at David Wilson Homes, Danica Trim.

The pupils taking part in the Building Buddies Award will now progress to the third task, a drawing competition to design the best wildlife friendly garden for their development’s show home.

Danica said: “It’s brilliant to see the pupils at Hook Junior School are so engaged with our Building Buddies Award scheme.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing the abilities of the children with the activities throughout the academic year and helping them learn more about the construction process at our nearby Oakwood Grange development.”
