THE chance to experience one of the Seven Wonders of the World and contribute to a Llandudno charity is up for grabs.

Staff and volunteers at St David’s Hospice are gearing up what is claimed to be the ultimate fundraising challenge. It is planned for 20 brave trekkers to embark in 2020 on the adventure of a lifetime on a nine day trek across The Great Wall of China.

The overseas challenge is the first of its kind being organised by the hospice and the response so far has been phenomenal in raising lots of interesting questions, such as how much is needed in sponsorship, and what level of fitness is necessary.

To answer all these questions, St David’s Hospice is inviting supporters to an open evening on Tuesday March 12 at 6:30pm at the hospice, in Abbey Rd, Llandudno. It will be a fun and detailed presentation about the challenge, as well as a question and answer session. Chinese light bites will also be offered on the evening.

Head of Fundraising, Margaret Hollings said: “The trip itself will take place between May 8 and 16, 2020. Not only does this trek offer the chance to conquer one of the Seven Wonders of the World, it is also a chance to cement your place in history as you place a brick in the wall as part of the rebuilding process.

“You could create memories for a lifetime by being part of something great and supporting your favourite charity at the same time.

“The challenge is open to everybody, whether they have a passion for living life to the full and want to overcome a challenge, enjoy fundraising and supporting the hospice or would like to make a difference locally. If anyone is thinking about this challenge but doesn’t know anyone else who might sign up, don’t worry as most people register solo and it is a fantastic way of meeting new lifelong friends”
