SCHOOLS and communities across Basingstoke showed off their creativity and flair for style for charity.

Mad Hair Day made its annual return today (February 15) as people across the area took on the challenge, giving themselves the craziest cuts and barmiest barnets, all in aid of St Michael’s Hospice.

Schools from all over the area took part in the day, seeing mad hair including mohicans, cupcakes, trees, a campfire complete with toasted marshmallows and a bird’s nest, along with many other weird and wacky designs.

The event encourages people to get creative with their haircuts and raise money for the hospice, which helps people in the area who are living with a life-limiting illness.
