A LANDMARK in donations made at a Basingstoke supermarket to support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has been recognised.
During the weekend of December 21 and 22, RNLI volunteers were at the Morrisons store in Worting Road collecting for the charity and managed to raise £1,469.
The figure meant that since the store opened in 2008, more than £20,500 has been raised in donations to the RNLI.
To mark the dedication to the organisation on Saturday the store’s community champion and charity co-ordinator Michelle Leary was presented with a plaque and framed certificate.
Treasurer for the RNLI, Martin Boddy, said: “Morrisons who have generously supported us over the last ten years and have achieved this magnificent milestone.
“It is your support that has done this.”
