A MAN was left unconscious following an attack in Basingstoke town centre.
The 28-year-old victim was assaulted at the bus terminal at Festival place around 7.15pm on Monday, 11 February.
The man is currently in a critical but stable condition in Basingstoke hospital.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident to come forward with any information.
In particular, they wish to speak to a cyclist who stopped to check on the victim following the attack.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, he has since been released from custody but remains under investigation.
