THE future of Basingstoke and Deane is bright, according to the cabinet.
At the meeting on Tuesday last week, members heard the latest from the Horizon 2050 vision, which outlines what residents would like to see for the future of the borough.
Leader of the borough council, Councillor Clive Sanders, said that this work is not a policy led by the borough council, but a framework of how things will work in the future.
Cllr Sanders said: “Basingstoke is undoubtedly a great place to live. We have a residents’ satisfaction rate of 94 per cent.
“Part of the reason it is such a good place to live is the forethought of those before us that shaped the borough.
“We are now at a similar point where we need to look out what we want to see for the future of the borough.”
The initiative has been broken down into key themes including: the economy, transport and the homes in which people live.
Cabinet will put Horizon 2050 plan to full council for adoption.
