FIREFIGHTERS have been doing their bit to clear the snow after being stood down for a call out.
A crew from Basingstoke Fire Station were called to Basingstoke railway station at 6.39am this morning (February 1) to reports of smoke coming from a passenger train.
Upon arrival, the incident had been dealt with and Network Rail had moved the faulty carriage for repairs.
However, crews aided station staff by clearing snow for passengers.
A team from Tadley Fire Station was also stood down from the incident and spend the next hour clearing snow from the apron, station entrance, drill yard and then gritted the pavements surrounding the Franklin Avenue premises.
