AN AWARD-winning teacher is arranging a meeting of minds to help students across Basingstoke.
Dr Kelly Richens, lead practitioner and science teacher at The Costello School, is an organising TeachMeet at the Crossborough Hill school on March 28.
The idea of the event is for teachers across the borough to come together and share ideas about best practice, while also listening to expert speakers deliver quickfire presentations.
Dr Richens, who win a Gazette Education Award last year, said: "The idea behind it is to get teachers from all phases - primary, secondary and colleges - to come together with their own ideas on teaching.
"Schools compete for students but TeachMeet breaks down the barriers between schools and means we can work collaboratively to enhance students' learning."
Keynote speaker for the event is Amjad Ali, a teacher, trainer and TEDx speaker with an extensive social media following.
Teachers who attend the free event will also be entered into a raffle draw automatically and receive a goodie bag of items.
TeachMeet is being held from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
To sponsor the event or donate an item, contact Dr Richens via email on k.underdown@costello.hants.sch.uk or on Twitter @DrKunderdown.
