YOUNGSTERS have been given something to cheer about after receiving a cash boost.
Basingstoke’s Wolverines Cheer Squad has been awarded £3,000 from TSB’s community support program.
The money will be used to buy specialist equipment and cover 18 months of infrastructure costs for the squad while a new team is established.
A cheque was presented by TSB Newbury branch manager Rukhsar Hussain to potential future para-athlete Somer Woodley-Dale and head of program Sharron Gibson-Pullen.
Head coach Kayleigh Fennell said: “We hope in the future to be able to train athletes that will be invited for national tryouts.”
