THOSE interest in alternative solutions to buying one’s own home are being invited to a special event.
Hart District Council is working with the Hampshire Community Housing Partnership to promote a community-led and self-build housing event to be held in Hook.
The event is taking place on Tuesday, 5 February between 4pm and 7.30pm at the Holt Room, in the Hook Community Centre.
Presentations will be taking place during the event about a number of topics, starting at 5.30pm.
Topics include what community-led housing is, what community land trusts are, and how to set one up.
Cabinet member for housing and communities at Hart District Council, Councillor Stuart Bailey, said: “We’re delighted to host this event in Hook for all Hart residents to come along and hear about the different building solutions.
“Events like these highlight the innovative ways that our communities can get involved by diversifying housing supply and making informed decisions about what is best for their area.
“I would encourage anyone who is interested in the topic to come along and find out more information.”
Anyone unable to attend the event but is interested in finding out more can contact Catherine Kirkham, Hampshire Community Housing Partnership housing officer on 01962 857387 or email Catherine.kirkham@actionhampshire.org.
