A NEW book-swapping club has launched in Hook.
The appropriately named Hook Books saw a meet-up of bookworms in the area to trade literary material and socialise with friends new and old.
Avid readers could bring in a bag of books or single books they had read and swap them out for ones that they hadn’t yet seen for a 50p donation.
In addition, there was the perfect accompaniment to a good book, with tea and cake available at the new monthly meet.
Over 1,000 books were donated as part of the day.
The inaugural event took place on January 17 at Elizabeth Hall in Raven Road, and was organised by the Hook Village Halls Charitable Association.
The next event will be on Thursday, 21 February from 2pm to 4pm.
