A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a collision with a lorry near Sherfield-on-Loddon.

The incident took place on the A33 between Wildmoor Lane and Reading Road at around 8.40am today (January 30).

Police and South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) were called to the scene of the incident which involved a black Suzuki motorbike and a white lorry.

SCAS sent two ambulance crews, ambulance officer and emergency care response unit to the scene.

The motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man from Reading, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed, but formal identification procedures remain ongoing at this time.

The A33 was closed in both directions while investigations were ongoing, but now the carriageway has been reopened with traffic flowing freely.   

Hampshire Constabulary is asking for anyone who witnessed the collision and the moments leading up to it to get in touch, particularly people who may have any dashcam video footage.
