A NIGHT of music which is set to have the audience grooving in the aisles is set to come to the Anvil.

Northern Soul Live is a soul and Motown party experience starring The Edwin Starr Band, featuring Angelo Starr with special guest original Northern Soul artist Lorraine Silver.

In the 15 years since the passing of Edwin Starr in 2003, Edwin's original band now take on his brother, Angelo, as frontman and lead vocalist to wow audiences up and down the county.

When the group comes to Basingstoke on February 23, they will be joined by Northern soul legend Lorraine who recorded her hit song “Lost Summer Love” when she was 13-years-old in 1965.

Lorraine is on tour regularly appearing at Northern Soul festivals and theatres throughout the UK as special guest of the Edwin Starr Band.

Having performed with industry stars such as The Temptations, Ben E. King and The Four Tops, the group's reputation for consistently producing outstanding live music has continued to grow beyond measure, with live appearances on Children in Need and Tony Blackburn's Big Soul Night Out.

The night will include all of the best Edwin Starr hits, such as War (What Is It Good For), S.O.S. (Stop Her On Sight), 25 Miles, H.A.P.P.Y Radio and many more.

Northern Soul Live will come to the Haymarket on February 23, with tickets costing £26.50.
