A MAN has been taken to hospital following an accident on a major commuter road this morning (January 24).
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) were called to the scene on the A340 near Paices Hill, Aldermaston, to a collision between a moped and a car.
An ambulance and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance critical care car we sent to the scene.
The moped rider, a 22-year-old man, was complaining of chest and back pain and after initial treatment and assessment at the scene, was taken to Basingstoke hospital.
The A340 between Baughurst and Aldermaston was been closed in both directions with traffic being diverted.
However, the road is now reopened but traffic is still heavy.
