STUDENTS from Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) have started receiving offers to study at a range of universities across the country, as they begin to decide on their next steps after college.

After the deadline for university applications closed, students at the college are waiting to hear whether they will receive an offer to start at their chosen universities in September, with some students having to undertake an interview as part of the application process.

A number of students have already received conditional offers from a range of Russell Group universities, such as University of Exeter and University of Southampton, who specialise in leading research and outstanding teaching and learning.

Meanwhile other students are utilising BCoT’s close links to Solent University in Southampton to continue their studies after college, applying to study degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Make-Up and Hair Design, Social Work, Midwifery, Events Management, Criminology and more. BCoT offers vocational courses across a wide range of subject areas, with Level 3 BTECs and diplomas available in Art and Design, Business, Sport, Computer Science and many more. Similar to A-Levels, vocational courses prepare students for further study at university, with a Level 3 Extended Diploma carrying the same UCAS points as three A-Level qualifications.

For those thinking about university in the future, there is still time to apply to BCoT from September.
