At The Hurst Community College there is nothing quite like the school play. It is the iconic staple of the drama department and is always the main attraction. No matter what, the school play is always an extravaganza full of excitement, comedy and energy. The head of drama, Mr Attridge, never fails to come up with an alternative, more creative version of traditional fables; this year it was Robin Hood.
We performed the play over three nights in December and there was a special performance to Year 5 pupils from the area. As our head teacher Mr Jones said, this year was an amazing production with 95 pupils performing and 10 pupils supporting backstage.
We may have had a few hiccups in our preparation but we overcame them together and the performances were hugely enjoyable for performers and audiences alike. So, if you’re ever free around Christmas, I would definitely recommend coming to see our amazing, somewhat unique, play.
