MUSIC lovers will be dancing in the moonlight as B Love announced its Sunday headline act.

Brit-nominated indie group Toploader will join Faithless and world-renowned DJ Sister Bliss as the headline act of this year’s two-day music extravaganza.

The 90s icons will entertain the crowds with their chart hits including ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ and ‘Achilles Heel’ as well as songs from their latest album, ‘Seeing Stars’ to close out the main stage on July 7.

Made up of Joseph Washbourn, Matt Knight, Rob Green and Dan Hipgrave, the group has previously supported artists such as Robbie Williams and Tom Jones.

Cabinet member responsible for arts and heritage at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Cllr Terri Reid said: “Together with the B LOVE Forum I’m very excited to announce Toploader as our second main stage headliner, sharing the stage with local and national artists.

“With a mix of music genres, family entertainment and an impressive display of art in unusual places, there really is something for everyone at next year’s festival.

“The countdown is on so get your tickets now to avoid disappointment and enjoy a weekend full of live music and entertainment for all ages.”

More details regarding the full line-up for this year’s event, held at the War Memorial Park on July 6 and 7, will be revealed in the coming months.

B Love is funded by the borough council and programmed by the B LOVE Forum, with more than 70 international and local live acts, family entertainment and art in unusual places all on offer.

Tickets for this year’s event are now on sale, priced at £10 for a day and £15 for a weekend ticket.

However, tickets purchased after May 31 will be priced at £15 for a day and £23 for a weekend and £3 for a day ticket and £4.50 for a weekend ticket for those aged between 13 and 17-years-old, with a booking fees applied.

Last year’s event saw the first year that the B Love event has been a paid for event, with more than 6,000 people paying to attend the music festival.

As previously reported in The Gazette, the borough council is looking at ways to make the whole festival more sustainable and is currently looking into sponsorships for the event.

B Love brings to a close to the month-long Basingstoke Festival, which is a celebration of the arts throughout the town.

The annual event showcases the best of the arts locally, nationally and internationally, from music to dance and visual art to theatre.
