PERI-peri fans in Basingstoke are rejoicing as a new Nando’s store opened its doors today (January 21).

The restaurant is the latest edition to the new St Michael’s Retail Park, in The Harrow Way, Brighton Hill.

The fast food chain will be able to host 103 people inside, with an additional 36 covers outside for those wanting to dine alfresco in the sunnier months.

Individuals will also have the option to take their favourite dishes with them, as Nando’s takeaway menu will also be available from the venue.a

Nando’s now joins Aldi and Wren Kitchens, which have already moved into the retail park.

The new Basingstoke restaurant has also created 40 new jobs in the area.

Regional managing director for Nando’s, Benji Hardaker, said: “We’re really excited to unveil this new restaurant to the locals, and bring our delicious Peri-Peri to even more people in the area.”

Nando’s already has a chain in Festival Place and has expanded to the west of the town to reach a wider customer base.

Work at St Michael’s Retail Park began in 2018, with the first vacant lots being filled towards the end of last year.
