A WHITCHURCH man who possessed indecent images of children has been given a suspended sentence.
David Treble, of The Knowlings, pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children and attempting to communicate with a person under the age of 16 for his own gratification at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
On Tuesday, 8 January, the court heard that between August 10, 2017, to September 3 the same year, Treble possessed nine indecent images and one video, all of the lowest category of C.
And between July 14, 2017, and September 3, 2017, he also intentionally attempted to communicate with a girl under 16.
The 49-year-old was given a 12-week jail term suspended for 18 months. He must also undergo 30 rehabilitation days, and pay a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
