The junction on the A30. Google Streetview
POLICE have opened an investigation after a 27-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision on the outskirts of Old Basing this morning.
A car and the motorcycle were involved in a crash on the A30 northbound, at the junction of Ashmoor Lane, at around 5.20am this morning.
The crash involved a white Skoda Superb and a red Yamaha motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 27-year-old man from Basingstoke, was declared dead at the scene.
The Skoda driver, a 56-year-old man also from Basingstoke, was arrested at the scene and has been released under investigation.
Anyone with any information about the incident are asked to call police on 101, quoting Operation Bowl.
