A MEMBER of a walking football club from Hook has been remembered with a charity match.

After the sudden death of Tim Bardell, from Hook, a long-serving member of the Fleet of Foot, the club held an event in his memory.

The club held an in-house football tournament at its base at the Hart Leisure Centre.

The leisure centre waived the £3 session fee and sponsors Specsavers and the Exchequer pub, in Crookham, also gave their support.

A total of 37 players took part in the emotional event, with many having attended Tim’s funeral at Basingstoke Crematorium beforehand.

A total of £272 was raised for Parkinsons UK, the family’s choice of charity.

Tim’s generous spirit was on show at a previous charity event, raising £150 for those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
