FESTIVE fundraisers hit the high notes to boost three causes supported by the mayor of Basingstoke and Deane at his Christmas carol service.
The seasonal event, held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in South Ham on Sunday, 9 December, was packed with people of all ages who were welcomed by the mayor Councillor Seán Keating and mayoress Gwen Keating.
More than £1,000 was donated raising money for Basingstoke Mencap, Naomi House & Jacksplace and Basingstoke NeighbourCare.
Cllr Keating said: “It was wonderful to see so many local residents at my carol service. I am thrilled at the fantastic amount of money they donated in support of my charity appeal and three very good causes which benefit the community.
“The mayoress and I send our Christmas greetings to everybody in the borough and wish them a happy new year.”
