A TWO-DAY Christmas fayre wowed residents with offerings from a variety of producers.

On December 3 and 4, The Enham Village Post Office & Stores in Enham Alamein held the event in aid of Andover’s The Countess of Brecknock Hospice.

On sale were varieties of locally sourced seasonal produce, alongside offerings of artistically crafted gifts - helping visitors tackle their Christmas shopping.

Also in attendance was mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Ian Carr, and his wife and mayoress Beryl.

The store is run by husband and wife duo Leslie and Tim Francis. Leslie said: “The event helped to just celebrate the start of the season.

“It was a chance to try before you buy, and a chance to see how many clever people are right on your doorstep, and also to order food and pick up some interesting little gifts

.”

Tim had the idea to raffle off a metal pedal car to help with the fundraising, which raised over £50 for the hospice.

Leslie added: “We received over £50 in the raffle. It actually went to a little local lad who will be absolutely overjoyed on Christmas.

“Tim also always does a wonderful display of Christmas lights each year, and we always get some lovely feedback from people.”

The store is still selling a variety of the products on offer, as well as continuing their fundraising for the Countess of Brecknock Hospice.
