PART of the town centre’s Christmas decorations has been found by the police this morning.
A two metre tall Nutcracker statue, which is part of the town centre’s Christmas trail, was reported to be missing by the trail’s organisers, Basingstoke Together, on Sunday, 10 December.
‘Hector Houndmills’, as the statue was dubbed, has dark hair, a golden crown, purple trousers and an orange jacket, and stood in London Street.
However, at 6.30am this morning (December 11), ‘Hector’ was located by police in War Memorial Park, and will be returned to his post later on today.
We’re pleased to report Hector has been located! It would appear he took a stroll around the War Memorial Park over the weekend. He’ll be back in position later today. #TheReturnOfHectorHoundmills https://t.co/LaIMBcVZWW
