POLICE are warning residents to only do their Christmas shopping with trust stores after a man was scammed out of £550.
The man had seen an advert for an iPhone on Basingstoke Facebay and agreed to meet the seller and purchase the phone.
After the purchase was made on December 5, the buyer returned home only to find that the phone was not genuine.
Hampshire Constabulary is warning people to check what they are buying is what is advertised and to only shop from trusted sellers.
If anyone is concerned of any suspicious behaviour or selling of items online they should report it by visiting the Action Fraud site at actionfraud.police.uk.
