THERE is still time for people wanting to pull on a Santa costume and raise money for charity to sign up for the Pelican Cancer Foundation Festive Fun Run.
Taking place at the War Memorial Park on Sunday, 16 December, it is expected hundreds of Santas will turn out.
The Basingstoke charity, which supports the treatment of ‘below the belt’ cancers, is hoping to raise vital funds at the family event, featuring a 5km and 2.5km course.
Runners will receive a Santa suit to wear around the course and a medal for taking part. Entry for all ages costs £15 each, with a £10 discount for bookings by teams of four or more.
Sarah Crane, chief executive at Pelican Cancer Foundation, said: “Pelican’s second Festive Fun Run is a great challenge for people to support our charity while having festive fun this Christmas.”
“It promises to be a great community event, so please sign up now – either individually, with family and friends, or in a team. We look forward to cheering you on.”
