A BRAMLEY primary school has received a grant of £1,000 from a housebuilder to help build an outdoor classroom and allotments.

Bramley School Association (BSA) is run by parents of children at Bramley Church of England Primary School with the aim of raising money for the school, while strengthening the links between the school itself, children, parents and the community.

It was chosen by Persimmon Homes Thames Valley as its latest Community Champion, a scheme that invites groups and charities to bid for a match-funded donation of up to £1,000.

Chairperson of the BSA, Christine Delve, said: “Thank you so much Persimmon, this is wonderful news. We are fundraising to build an outdoor classroom and some allotments for the children to take ownership of and responsibility for.

“They will maintain the allotments and grown their own food which will help them learn about healthy eating and environmental impact.

“We have held other fundraising events including a fireworks evening and a school disco but this donation from Persimmon Homes Thames Valley is a massive boost. We cannot thank them enough for their support which will help us continue to expand the children’s learning and development.”

Rachel Faulkner, sales director at Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, said: “We are delighted to be able to help Bramley and hope that they have their allotments and outdoor classroom up and running soon.”
