AT THE start of the half term, one of the features of Brighton Hill Community School's headteacher Mr Edwards' whole-school assembly required staff participation - and plenty of it.

Twenty brave BHCS teachers spun a digital wheel to decide on an activity they would take part in for charity, in order to raise money to bring Ugandan orphans from the King's Kid Home over to England to spend a week at Brighton Hill.

Challenges included running a half marathon, walking 10 kilometres of the school field, spending a day in fancy dress, performing a dance during the Christmas assembly, featuring in a music video shown during the Christmas assembly or participating in an 'I'm a Celebrity'-style bushtucker trial.

Staff have already begun rehearsing for dances, training for marathons and zipping up their fancy dress costumes, and we can't wait to see the faces of regret in a few weeks' time!

Overall, we applaud our courageous teachers for taking part in this excellent event to hopefully see some new arrivals from Uganda in the future.
