A MAN has been charged in connection with an assault at a pub in South Ham.

Police officers carried out a raid at a property in Paddock Road on Tuesday, in which a knife was seized, as part of the ongoing Fortress campaign to reduce drug-related crime in the region.

Subsequently, David Hall, 42, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court this morning.

The charge relates to an assault at The Beacon pub, in Kings Road, which happened just after midnight on Sunday, 2 December.
