A MARKETING agency has landed an award for its approach to working life.

Basing View-based The Typeface Group beat national competition when it won a Variety Catherine Award in the Women’s Empowerment in the Workplace category at a ceremony in London on Tuesday 13 November.

In her acceptance speech, managing director Polly Buckland said: “The reason that we run a little micro business in Basingstoke which champions flexibility is very much because we were brought up by strong women who didn’t put any boundaries on us.

"We’re very lucky to have had these warrior women in our lives. So, this award is for them.”

All of the Typeface Group team are offered the same flexibility so they never miss a doctor's appointment or a school nativity.

This is the second time this year that The Typeface Group have won a national award. The Typeface Group also won a UK Blog Award 2018 for Business PR, Marketing Comms and Media.

Director Natalie Weaving said: “We could not be more proud of the success The Typeface Group has enjoyed this year.

"The dedicated team work hard to meet the needs of our clients whilst keeping their own personal lives and commitments in check. We are so happy that this has been recognised with these amazing awards - and we’re excited to see what the future holds too.”

The Variety Catherine Awards celebrate the role of women in business throughout the UK.

The Typeface Group were joint category winners with international marketing agency Beyond, which have worked with some of the biggest global companies including Facebook, Gap, Virgin and Mastercard.

The judging panel included Paula Radcliffe MBE, MOBO Awards founder Kanya King MBE, and President of Law Society of England and Wales Christina Blacklaws.
