A SALON in Chineham with an inclusive ethos was given the Service Excellence Award, which rewards businesses for customer service.

Hair Beauty & Barber Studio, based in Stag Oak Lane, proved to be a cut above the rest as it claimed the award, with Clair Davey, Hannah Parker and Toni-Sue Mays representing the salon on the night.

Owner Clair said: “We were so excited to win, and I am so happy, it is such a shock.

“We’ve been up for the award for the past few years and got so worked up each time to not then win. But we have now, and I am so happy.

“If it wasn’t for the team, we wouldn’t be here - it is really good for them to have won the award.”

Salon manager and senior beauty therapist Hannah added: “We really take pride in our ethos which is that everyone who comes in can feel safe in the chair. Anyone can come in and feel like they are part of the family, which is so important.

“There is no judgement, it doesn’t who you are, you can come in to our salon.”

Another point of pride for the salon was that it takes on apprentices, providing them with a practical education as well as the customer service training.
