THERE’S less a month to go before crowds of Santas get under starter’s orders for a festive fun.

Men, women and children are invited to pull on a Santa suit and get involved on Sunday, 16 December in Pelican Cancer Foundation’s Festive Fun Run.

The Basingstoke charity, which supports the treatment of ‘below the belt’ cancers, is hoping to raise funds at the event, with a 5km and 2.5km course around Memorial Park.

Runners will receive a fun Santa suit to wear around the course and a medal for taking part.

Entry for all ages costs £15 each, with a £10 discount for bookings by teams of four or more.

Miller’s Ark Animals will be there for youngsters to meet and refreshments will be available, with a free mince pie with every hot drink purchased.

All profits will support Pelican’s work funding clinical research into advancing precision surgery in the treatment of bowel, liver, bladder and prostate cancers.

Sarah Crane, chief executive at Pelican Cancer Foundation, said: “Pelican is proud to bring the Festive Fun Run to the local community for a second year – it is a great challenge for all ages.

“There will be plenty of Christmas cheer and so please sign up now – either individually, with family and friends, or in a team.

“Support our Basingstoke-based charity while having festive fun this Christmas!”
