A FAMILY-run care home company in Fleet won the award celebrating the best family businesses.

Woodlands & Hillbrow run several care homes in Farnham and Fleet, with many of the members of the family taking a role in running the business.

Business proprietor Alison Lee said: “I can’t believe it, I’m absolutely shell-shocked.

“It was a big surprise for me, the family and the business, but it really was a nice surprise.”

The family feeling is not just limited to the those in the same family themselves, as it extends to include more people in the business.

Alison added: “In total, we have 210 people in the business, and they all feel like family. It’s like having a massive family, each and every one of them feels like a member of our family.

“It is a lovely business and we are lucky to have it. We have a wonderful time running the business, and it really is like caring for our own, everyone cares about everyone else.

“We have really grown and look forward to keeping going.”

The business owns and runs the Hill Brow Residential Home in Farnham, Woodlands Residential Home in Fleet, and Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home in Farnham.

Woodlands has been rated as an 'outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission, and Hill Brow has received a 'good' rating.
